About This Project

Chisou is an authentic Japanese sushi restaurant and sake bar in Mayfair whose owner wished to develop a new concept for a second site in Knightsbridge. A mix of dining experiences was required across three floors in a Georgian terrace house; a sophisticated and intimate dining area on the ground floor, casual dining and a saki bar on the first floor, and a ‘chef’s table’ in the basement where diners can enjoy the theatre of their food being freshly prepared in front of them. The storefront window is used for ‘see-and-be-seen’ dining and private booths, known as ‘the Japanese houses’, were created further back. Traditional dark woods, diffused light and slatted screens are used throughout to unify the scheme.
