About This Project

Pure Café is located in the recently refurbished Worsley Building, home to the School of Medicine at the University of Leeds. Super-food smoothies and craft coffees from Yorkshire-based Darkwoods Coffee accompany a freshly prepared and locally sourced food menu. With a higher staff-to-student ratio the brief required a more premium feel for the food offer and a more comfortable interior. Different pockets of seating were needed for groups and more private meetings, so we designed a ‘goal-post’ structure within the double-height space to create ‘rooms within a room’. We also provided the signage, menus, and brand messaging, and photographed the Darkwoods roastery for the wall canvases.
