Bedrock is integral to Caffè Nero’s New Property Development strategy and we always attend the weekly review meeting. For properties that need to prove their commercial viability, we visit the site with the Property Director to scope out its potential eg whether structural changes are required and potential covers. Caffè Nero always embraces the architectural personality and sense of place that high street stores bring, and listed building status is never a deterrent. We understand the extra level of design, detailing and approvals required and the role of specialist consultants. Two notable projects are the Grade II* listed Queen Elizabeth’s Guest Chambers, Canterbury and the Grade I Tudor Tavern in Fore Street, Taunton, which required Government approval.
